: Online documents in PDF, Word or Excel form

Description: A downloadable document found online, e.g. PDF, Word or Excel file


  • Types of online documents include reports, factsheets, media releases, handouts and guidelines.
  • If you cite the authoring body frequently in-text, introduce and then use an abbreviation for subsequent citations, e.g. (UniSA 2010).
  • Page numbers are not always available in online documents. Include them where available.

Format and layout:
Author's family name OR Authoring body (year, page number if applicable)
(Author's family name OR Authoring body year, page number if applicable)
